Treat yourself to a sweet summer Shandy! Shandy has been really blossoming in her foster home. When she first came to the kennel, she was skinny and sick and a total heartbreaker. Now she has had a chance to rest and recover and show her real personality. She's sweet as a pie and just a bit zany :)
Shandy likes to pass her days napping in the sun, gazing adoringly at her people, curling up in pods on the couch, and exploring on walks. She is first and foremost a velcro dog. She is happiest when she is with her people. She's very cuddly, sleeps in bed at night, and makes a great work-from-home buddy as she'll chill out in her dog bed or lay at your feet. Shandy mixes up her busy snuggle schedule by chewing on Benebones, monitoring the yard for squirrels, and joining her human on runs through the neighborhood.
Shandy's ideal home would include one where she has people home much of the time, as she is still working up to being comfortable being left alone for long periods of time. She is doing a great job picking up on the household routine and learning commands such as sit and off. Whenever her person gets home, it's fireworks: she does the most ecstatic zoomies. It can make you feel like the most important person in the world, but she's also practicing containing her excitement as she can be pretty bouncy about it. She's still a young lady but she is so eager to please. She enjoys her walks and runs and generally keeps a good pace. She was social with other dogs in play group, though she may do best in a home without smaller critters like cats.
If you're looking to be showered in love, Shandy is eager to do it. She is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs 40 lbs.
