Ra was a new arrival at a colony of homeless cats where there is a watchful caretaker who feeds them and gets any who need it spayed and neutered. A nearby apartment complex is a frequent source of new cats as people often move out and leave their cats behind to fend for themselves. The caretaker got Ra neutered and then discovered he was people-friendly. Wanting a better future for him than the hardscrabble street life, she asked if The Rescue House could help Ra find a loving home.
Ra is a very handsome and very sweet boy. His experience with the uncertainties of his prior living situation has made him cautious in new situations, so he will need an adjustment period to get to know his new people. Once he settles in and knows you, Ra becomes very social! He's a vocal kitty with an expressive variety of meows, purrs, and the most adorable chirps. He'll follow you around and loves to sit next to you. He'll also crawl into your lap. Since he's still a younger boy, Ra is quite fond of toys and playtime: wands are great and kicker sticks are made to be, well, kicked. He likes assorted other toys and furniture, and will happily survey his domain from the top of the cat tree.
Ra gets along with other cats. We don't know his thoughts on dogs. Calm older children nearing their tweens who can understand and respect his adjustment period would probably be fine though we have not observed him around any kids thus far.
Ra will make sure you know how much he loves and appreciates you if you give him the chance to settle in. Will this handsome panther be your new BFF?
