Foster update 3/11/24:
Mercury happily utilizes his crate...no barking so far from this good boy. He's super friendly and loving to people, but prefers to be the only furry friend around.

*Strong, solid boy that loves to play
Not sure who had more fun during photo time was it Volunteer Dave or new kid on the block MERCURY!!    Bully lovers wherefore art thou??  This was Mercury's first photo session and he was da' bomb!  This sleek red and white jacketed fella is smooth as suede to touch and just look at that huge grin!!  He's looking for love folks and in all the right places....OHS!  He's single and ready to mingle!   Arriving with 3 other dogs,  Mercury is still settling in a bit and a little nervous exiting the kennel area, but once outside,  he's ready to run and play and boy, does he love to chase after tossed toys and then carry them around in his mouth.  In particular,  during photo time he took a keen liking to a rubber duck toy.   Graced with a more buff, solid physique, it didn't take long for Mercury to fully embrace his new human friends especially when they started to scratch his back at the base of his tail.  Mercury is a happy spirited guy who is curious, playful and is ready to love you to the moon and back.  Sound like your "type?"  Please, let's hear from you!

Facebook update March 1:  It's Oscar checkin in with Mercury with you. He's been such an amazing dog so far, super playful inside and outside. He likes playing fetch outside, and I can keep him off the leash and let him run around my yard/neighborhood without any issues of him running away or getting distracted by something else. I took him to visit a friend, a larger pit bull, and they were having a great time.  At the dog park he did great but then got a bit overwhelmed/defensive so we left. No cats for him, please!  With people he's been really really good.  No issues being around large groups of people as I was walking him around Clemson campus a little bit. I don't want to make this super long so I'll just keep it at that for now.  Mercury has been so great!

Facebook Update April 8: Did you know super handsome red and white hunky MERCURY is back from foster care??  This great guy has been off site living the foster dream but his dad knew it was temp from the start and has moved out of town pursuing a new job.   The great news is that he's STILL available for YOU to meet and to fall in love with.  His dad gave him an excellent report which we proudly share below:

Foster dad report: He has been great! He's super friendly and very chill with other people, even in populated places like on Clemson campus.  Other than that he's very well crate trained, I'll usually have him in by 11pm, and he doesn't ever bark, he just likes to whine and talk in the morning when he wants to go out. Overall he's been a very great dog, super cuddly and is always by my side even at home.

A few extra notes on Mercury:  He's a year old and a chunky 60lbs.  Very friendly and affectionate.  He is very calm and quiet in the kennel, no reaction to other dogs and is just a super happy guy who LOVES his toys.  Very content to self entertain.  Knows sit and is treat motivated.  He's not a fan of other dogs (but can walk near them) or smaller animals...think squirrels.
