Avalanche Warning: Be aware of your surroundings when entering Meow Manor. You could be in danger of being overwhelmed by a talkative, loving, affectionate cat who is bound to steal your heart. I am Avalanche, a gorgeous two-year old black beauty who wants nothing more than a lap to sleep in and a person to chat with. As soon as I hear the doorbell ring at the shelter, I assume the position nearest my window to start talking to you as you come in. I think of myself as the official Meow Manor Greeter, and I think I do a pretty spectacular job. I will tell you a bit about myself when you come in, but I will write some stuff down for you now too as I don't want to waste time talking about personal details when we can just love on one another. I will start with the difficult stuff as I don't like to dwell on it. I was found as a stray, so I was living on my own on the streets, which was quite difficult, but my optimism and love of life got me through. My memory is a bit spotty, but I believe that I had what I thought was a forever home with human guardians before I ended up on the streets, which made my time on the streets more difficult. It was easier for me to forget that time, so I wouldn't be sad, but the people here tell me that most likely I was abandoned by my former humans as I am so well-mannered, love to sit on people's laps, and was already neutered...whatever that means.
On one of my worst nights living unhoused, I was most likely bit by another cat, and as a result I have something called FIV. While I was scared of that diagnosis at first, I am told that it is nothing to fear. All that I really find is that I am slightly more susceptible to respiratory illnesses and may need more frequent vet check-ups than other cats, but I don't mind. FIV is only spread through cat bites from cat-to-cat and can't be spread to people or other animals, so I should be the only cat in the household, unless your other cat has FIV. I don't mind that though as I am pretty greedy when it comes to human affection. I will admit that I actually get in people's paths when they try to pet my roommate, which I know isn't very hospitable of me, but what can I say, I LOVE people and want all the attention to myself. As soon as you sit down in my room, I will jump on your lap and snuggle. I love rubbing all over you and cuddling. I do like a nice wand toy and some of the balls and stuffed mice in my room, but given a choice, I will just lie in your lap.
So, if you are looking for a handsome, young, talkative, affectionate boy to call your own, come down and meet me. I know you will love being buried by this Avalanche's affection.
