I'm Schnitzel and I am likely a Lab and Pitty mix breed boy. I'm young at heart as they say. I'm about three years old and a lean seventy-five pounds.
I'm working on learning that people don't always communicate like us dogs. I'm doing great working on my manners and I'm learning that y'all don't always appreciate an enthusiastic greeting like I do. So, I'm being taught to sit for treats and I'm waiting to say hi until my feet are on the ground. I can tell you that I'm very food motivated, and I am more than happy to "sit" for a good snack. I know how to lay "down", "shake" and I know this cool trick of "up" where I stand on a log or big ol' rock. I think that's a pretty cool trick! I love attention and belly rubs are great! I think I would like to have an active home where we can get daily walks or daily puzzles and training. All the staff here say that I'm a smart guy and I'm super excited to learn new things. I'm a people please and I'm doing my best to learn as fast as possible! I'm learning some leash manners and some of my favorite days include a pack walk with some of my shelter buddies.
While I enjoy many dogs, I sometimes have a rough and tumble kind of play style. Which not all dogs love. If you have a dog at home, I would need to meet them before being adopted to make sure they like me too!
