Hi wonderful people, I am the gorgeous, sweet little 9 years-young lady named Kodie. I don't want to start out bragging about myself, but I have been told by many that I have the softest, prettiest buff coat they have had the pleasure to pet. Since you clicked on my photo, you know that I am adorable, but I also have a sweet personality, which says something about my resilience.
I will get the sad part of my story out of the way just so you know that hidden under my soft, beautiful exterior is someone who can be tough when it is necessary to survive. I was living with my previous human and another cat when my human suddenly died. It was horrible to lose my person, and I was very sad, but what followed was worse on me. See, my human's family was understandably concerned about the household and estate matters, and we cats got lost in the shuffle and we became homeless strays, which was very difficult after a life of leisure. It was incredibly scary and difficult fending for ourselves, finding food, and trying to survive, so I developed a thick skin and learned to distrust people in order to survive. I admit that the situation did not bring out the best in me, and I tended to take it out on my cat-sibling. I guess that it helped me realize that I am best as a single gal, so I would like to be the only furry family member, please. Because of my time on the streets, I was very scared of people when I was first brought to Max Fund by some kind people who found me.
It was wonderful having a warm bed and people to feed and care for me, but I will admit I wasn't showing the best of myself because I was angry, sad, and scared. When you enter my nice room, I might hide at first, but if you sit on the ground, I will come out, chat about my day, and cuddle up right next to you, so you can pet me, which feels amazing. My eyes occasionally get irritated by stuff in the air as happens with many people, but I don't need a special diet or regular medical attention.
As I said before, I love to cuddle and chat, but I also love those crinkly tunnels that I have in my room. They are amazing! I can curl up in them, play with my toys, stalk my stuffed mouse toys, and make a nice entrance for my human visitors. I can't wait to meet you and find my perfect companion and forever home.
