Meet Snowy River!
Snowy River is a 9-month-old German Shepherd/Lab/Husky mix that currently weighs around 55 pounds but has about 3 months of growing left. Snowy is finally ready to find a family of his own, where he can be loved and learn new skills! Snowy is a very sweet boy but has been a little anxious due to the change of being an outside dog being brought into the rescue setting. Snowy has not had much experience in a home, but he has worked on some basic skills such as guidance with potty training and leash training and has done well learning so far. With him acclimating well to being inside, he will be able to be adopted as an inside/outside pet. Snowy does not understand how to walk well on a leash quite yet, so a physical fenced in yard will be required for him. He would need proper introductions to other dogs and children, as he has not had much experience with being around children, or dogs that were not his relatives. A home with kids 12 and up would be best, as he can still be nervous around fast movements or loud noises. We are requiring another dog in the home to help him build his confidence. Snowy has not yet been introduced to a cat, but we can test him to get his reactions to them, if you have a feline family member that resides in the home. Once Snowy has the chance to acclimate to his surroundings, he does have a good amount of energy and loves to run and play, so he would love to have an active family to show him what it is like to be a dog. He would love to find a family that would be willing to have patience with him and to take him on new adventures once brave enough!
