Reintroducing Cassie-a sweet 4.5-year-old Lab mix who, heartbreakingly, knows our rescue all too well. Over the past two years, Cassie has bounced in and out of our care, never experiencing the lasting security of a true forever home. And now, through no fault of her own, she's back with us once again. Cassie's journey began when she was found as a stray, suffering from severe skin issues due to untreated allergies. She had no fur-just raw, irritated skin. It took nearly a full year of dedicated care and trial-and-error treatments for her beautiful coat to return. And through it all, Cassie remained resilient. Now, Cassie is hoping someone will finally see her not just as a temporary companion, but as a lifelong family member. Cassie's ideal home would be a calm, low-traffic environment. She can be protective of her space-understandably so, given how often it's been taken from her. But with the people she trusts, Cassie is incredibly sweet, loyal, and affectionate. She longs for a true bond, one built to last. She would do best in a home with children ages 12 and up. Cassie has also previously lived with other dogs, and could potentially go with another dog as long as it's a good match. We want nothing more than for this to be the last time Cassie has to start over. She deserves the stability, love, and commitment that come with a real forever home.
