Hello! I'm Maxine, a 1-year-old pretty pittie..or maybe a fruit bat! Just look at my ears! I came to MaxFund as an owner surrender in late July. I was very sick then, but I've been mending since then and now I'm ready to take loving visitors. Since getting here, the staff and volunteers have come to know me as a playful toy and water lover. I enjoy chasing balls and playing in the sprinklers and am still learning working to build up my confidence, especially when meeting new people. I have not yet been around kids, dogs, or cats, but the staff think I would best in a home without either.
You should know that I haven't had the easiest life. If you are patient with me and willing to put in the work, I will repay you with years of love and trust! I just need gentle, confident guidance to become my best self. If you have experience with behavioral dogs, I would love to meet you! I have come out of my shell so much since coming to MaxFund! I'm learning to trust, and starting to enjoy pets and cuddles!
I have a cardiac issue that has turned out to be irreparable. Don't be sad for me, I still live everyday with a joyful heart!!
Please come down to the shelter to meet me, and you'll surely fall in love with my unbelievably cute ears. Please bring any other human and canine members of the family to meet me to make sure we all get along! Hope to see you soon!
