Reina traveled from Mexico looking for a new start. Even though a kind lady in the area cared for and fed the homeless cats in the neighborhood, living outside was rough for Reina! Some of the other local felines were aggressive towards her and would chase her away from meals. Looking to help sweet Reina, the woman's friend stepped in and offered Reina a ride to San Diego to join The Rescue House.

Make way for Queen Reina! This wonderful tabby will greet you with cute chirps. She simply adores her royal subjects (A.K.A. humans)! Once she brushes her body against your leg, you are sure to fall head over heels for her. Leg rubs are her specialty. For petting pamper sessions, Reina loves scritches on her face and chin. She kindly requests that you keep away from her belly and rear end, and venturing into these no-go zones could earn you a swat or warning nip to respect her wishes. (While Reina is a sugar cookie, she also comes with a dash of spice.) She is fascinated with human hair: if you have interesting long hair, such as braids, she is likely to get her paws tangled in the strands. Reina is a social and inquisitive kitty, and her dream home is furnished with a tall cat condo for vertical escapades, loose toys for pouncing, a fountain to provide running water, and you ready to engage her with the cat catcher wand! She has a keen interest in playtime and will need regular lengthy sessions with you as she isn't the best at expending that energy on her own. Reina will graciously lend a helping paw when it comes to preparing dinner and she will sleep on the bed with you at night.

Reina is not a fan of other felines and prefers to be your only kitty. She has lived with a calmer dog and they did well together, though an overly rowdy canine is not as good a fit. Given her occasionally spicy moods, cat-savvy older tweens+ or an adult home would be best.

This elegant queen is waiting to bestow her love on her special people. Will you be the one to give Reina the marvelous life she longs for?
