Amelia and her brother found themselves in a predicament when their previous guardian got a great opportunity to attend a graduate program in another state. While they were happy for him, they also were devastated that he could not take them with him. He reached out to a Rescue House volunteer, and we invited them to join our fold. Amelia's brother by another mother went home with a family not long afterwards. Knowing her day will come soon, Amelia is waiting in a foster home.

Although rightfully upset that her little family was split up, Amelia has accepted the hand fate dealt her and is now looking for just the right situation. (She is quite a treasure, and she knows she deserves the purrfect forever home, so she is not prepared to settle for less!) Like many kitties, she can be overwhelmed by unfamiliar circumstances. Having experienced quite a bit of upheaval recently, Amelia simply prefers to approach life cautiously so please give her a chance to adjust both to you and to her new residence. Once you get to know this princess, Amelia will reward you by revealing her true self-a sweet and friendly little lady! This beautiful girl loves affection and will approach you with some headbutts, asking for pets. Just so you have an idea of how things will go, once she feels safe in her surroundings, Amelia will devote time to exploring every nook and cranny of her space. Since she enjoys hitting the playground too, she will look to intersperse her investigations with interactive sessions with the laser pointer-we hope you have brushed up on your zigzagging technique! Once she tires of running after the red dot, she hopes you will pamper her with a massage and reward her for her valiant efforts at dominating her prey with copious cuddles.

Not really sure about others, Amelia can be picky when it comes to feline friends-we think she might be happiest as an only kitty or perhaps with a single welcoming kitty pal. The resident cat in her foster home is not a fan of others; however, she still tried to become his bud while they cohabitated. Amelia lived with her grandmother for a short time and was terrified of the woman's thirteen-year-old Husky, so she would prefer household without big dogs. She had limited exposure to children in her previous abode and was curious about the ones that visited. If she gets overstimulated or extremely upset, she occasionally can communicate with her claws and teeth; thus, cat-savvy older kids would be best.

Although totally blameless, Amelia is without a home. Will you be the person to give this special kitty a place to call her own?
