Weight: 83 Pounds About Rocky: WANTED: FULL TIME BELLY RUBBER (WILL CONSIDER PART-TIME IF YOU ARE A REALLY GOOD BELLY RUBBER) I have the build of "The Italian Stallion" - muscular and strong, which is where I got the name Rocky. But, don't let that fool you. I have the heart of a pussy cat (as long as you're not a dog that is, or an actual pussy cat). I'm a happy dog. As you can see, I'm always smiling. I love a good roll in the grass, just hanging out with my person, and a good long belly rub. I am a big boy, with a big heart, and a lot of love to give. In return, I want ALL your loving. I don't want to share it with another pet. Ok, call me selfish, but that is just the way it is. If you are looking for protection, my size and "Rocky Balboa" looks could scare off anyone. And, if I were to bark at them, they would surely think twice before advancing. We could be in trouble though if they offered me a belly rub, because I am a sucker for a good belly rub. I'm a smart dog. I know come, sit, touch and paw. I'm pretty good at down, but sometimes that just leads to me rolling over for a belly rub. I do enjoy learning new things with my person. I am really food motivated, so it is easy to teach me new things. I am all smiles while you are giving me attention. But, if I have to be honest, after a few commands, I really would just like a good belly rub. I'm working on trying to be tolerant of seeing other dogs. My mentor tells me that just because I see another dog, that doesn't mean that they are trying to invade my territory. I guess I can deal with that, and I'm working on it, but it isn't easy. She likes to play a game called "See the dog". Once I see the dog, she says "yes" and gives me a treat if I don't bark at them and focus back on her. I love getting a treat for not barking and lunging at the other dog, but even better - I love a good belly rub. So, after I get the treat, I like to roll over for a belly rub. I ride really well in the car. My mentor squeezes me into the front seat of a Toyota Tacoma. It's good to get out of the shelter, but I'm a big boy. I would love to have an entire back seat to myself. After all, if we're going for a ride together, I want to be comfortable. I do enjoy a good treat. My mentor has tried giving me fruit. Come on, really - fruit? I didn't get my rock hard, Rocky Balboa, muscular physique eating fruit. I want a real treat. Give me salmon, liver, hot dog - something with some sustenance. I need to keep my muscular build. You can't do that with fruit. She did take me for a Dairy Queen Pup Cup on the way back to the shelter once. Now that is a real treat! If you're looking for a laid back, chilled dog, that would totally be loyal to their person, who rides well, walks well, and loves a good belly rub (but doesn't want to share these things with another dog) we should talk. Oh, and did I mention that I love a good belly rub! You have to be willing to give lots of belly rubs! In return you will get a really loyal dog that will love you forever. |
