Hi. My name is Cove and I am 4 years old. Before I came to the shelter, I was owned by my previous family, who unfortunately had me declawed. And if that wasn't enough I was found as a stray, wandering the streets in a skinny, scared state. Since coming to the shelter I have found friends with the staff and volunteers, but I don't know how to feel about the other cats. They make me nervous because I don't have my first defense with my claws, and would love to be your only cat. My perfect home would be relaxed and quiet, with adults and/or teenagers. I like it when people come over to pet me, but do not like being pet everywhere and will act out if mishandled. The best way to get to know me is to sit with me, sometimes the volunteers bring books to read to me, and when I'm in the mood I might even climb on your lap to join you. My favorite thing however is when people rub my cheeks and head, and I will slowly blink back at you to show that I love you.
