Meet Yahoo! Yahoo is an Australian Cattle Dog who weighs about 55 lbs and is considered a medium energy dog. This goofball is one of the most affectionate dogs I've ever fostered. He absolutely loves human affection and snuggles! He's an amazing buddy when watching tv and will lay right next to you and lay his head on your lap. Often times he will nudge his humans for more pets as well as roll over for belly rubs!
Yahoo rides great in the car and is a great companion on walks and hikes as he generally walks at your pace without pulling. Although he can be reactive at times when he sees other dogs on walks, his foster mom is working hard at helping him realize is not necessary for him to act silly and feel the need to react. His foster home consists of me (foster mom), my fiance, and our female dog Kida (a shepherd mix). Yahoo and Kida get along terrific and we have had zero issues between the two of them. This has led me to believe that Yahoo prefers the company of female dogs over males. Did I mention this boy is super smart? He knows the sit, shake, and down commands. He does his business outside and has not had any accidents in the house. He willingly goes into his crate at night without making a peep. Yahoo has some traits typical to Cattle dogs/Blue Heelers in that he can be protective at times. He will also attempt to "herd" small children and has a prey drive for little critters. For these reasons he ideally should not go to a home with cats, young children, or those looking to start a family. A trait that he possesses that's not typical to his breed- HE IS A CALM, DAPPER GENTLEMAN! He's also a bit of a loaf... he would rather get pet than chase a ball. Although he loves to run around with squeaky toys and have the zoomies, it's typically for a short time then he's looking to relax near his humans. Do yourself a favor and meet this goofy boy! All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. As required by Wisconsin Act 90, all dogs will have received a veterinarian exam (CVI) within the past 30 days. Our adoption process requires the submission of an application. Applications and Adoption Rules can be found on our website, on the "HOW TO ADOPT" tab at JRsPupsNStuff.org. Upon receipt of the completed application, we will process the application including: contact with your veterinarian and completion of a home visit. Please be sure to include the contact information for your vet as we will call. If your vet requires an information release, please be sure to contact them as soon as you submit your application.
