"Joy is the simplest form of gratitude." (Kari Barth) Joy is shelter. Joy is food. Joy is being alive! I'm Joy, a one-year-old tortoiseshell girl who was found outside, lying in a window well. The person who found me thought I was dead. Then I blinked. I was extremely cold, but I warmed up, recovered, and became a feisty tortie. Yes, I do torties proud everywhere! I went to another rescue, and those people said that I will do best, "blossom," they said, in a home with people who are accustomed to "tortitude!" I can be both shy and feisty. When I got to Paws and Claws, I felt safest in an enclosed space, like a lot of cats do when they arrive. (That's what the kitty grapevine says, anyway. So I'm normal.) But I like being petted after a proper introduction to someone. I play sometimes, too. So don't let that "tortitude" thing throw you off. I'm just a kitty with a bit of attitude and independence. But I'm nothing you can't handle. If I didn't have chutzpah, I might not be alive today. Choose Joy.
