The NMDR Rehab Team is working with Ace to help him work through some behavior challenges. He needs a family who will be extra patient with him, and who preferably has experience with large dogs. The NMDR Behavior Manager will talk to prospective adopters to explain the work we've done with him, and what will be the best home situation for him. Fun Facts about Ace Very friendly with people Likes other dogs Enjoys sunshine and fresh air Big goofy, happy guy Challenges for Ace Can be wild and jumpy, and sometimes play bites Needs an adopter experienced with large dogs Needs a lot of exercise His family will have no kids younger than 16 years ----- Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 6 years old; homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
