"Prickly"? Who me? Surely you jest! Oh, sure, when I first got here, I was purr-haps a mite testy. But "prickly"? That would be a cactus, would it not? I am NOT a cactus! I am a pretty brown-orange tabby girl called Nola. My name is Irish, and it means, "noble; famous." I was pregnant when I was found, and when my rescuers gave me up because they were moving, they said I sometimes got nippy with folks I didn't know and might need a home with older children and people experienced with cats. You know, some cats need time to get to know people, and since I've been here, I've learned a lot about that. There were good reasons for my crankiness, and that's in the past. Now I like affection and attention. I like sitting on laps. You should see what a FUN cat I can be! When I am in high spirits, I wrestle with stuffed mice and catnip toys. I kick them with my back feet. I make mad dashes across the room, jumping up onto things then back down again. This is my aerobic workout, which is good for me, because I've gained weight since coming to the shelter. I do still need a home with experienced cat people and no young children, but I will definitely make a fun companion for the right person. Come look at me. I'm three years old and I'm hoping to be your Nola.
