Meet our exquisite, sweet Laylah!

Laylah is a lovely kitten, one of a special trio of siblings, found abandoned on a rural property at 7 weeks. Barely surviving on their own, Laylah, Daphne and Skylar were rescued with their mom, Adele, and immediately went into foster care for some no-holds-barred, TLC.

The name Laylah has Arabic and Persian origins. Derived from the Arabic leila (night, nocturnal) or the Persian leila (dark-haired), in the Arab world, this name has a long tradition of being used for baby daughters born at night. It has also come to imply "dark beauty", in reference to the baby's dark features and/or complexion. The urban dictionary describes Laylah as the most beautiful, funny, intelligent, amazing girl you could ever know, a queen that shines bright like a diamond, the star up in the sky, the mountain peak up high, that little bit of hope when your back is against the ropes, she's the world's greatest!

For our kitty Laylah, her name could not be more meaningful. It signifies her dark, rough beginnings, it represents her gorgeous, fluffy and ‘oh so soft' grey fur and, lastly, it refers to the delightful princess she has grown into, with stunning looks and beautiful personality. Laylah is a sweet kitten who loves to be petted and reciprocates with a lot of love and affection. She enjoys snuggling up with her humans and she's almost guaranteed to start purring the second you touch her. She is very gentle and has impeccable manners. When her fosters dish out the cats' food, she sits up on her hind legs and gives little meows, like she's trying to say "please!"

Laylah is very confident and independent. Of the sisters, she's the most reasonable and easy-going and was the easiest to take care of, post-spay. Since her siblings were adopted to their forever home, Laylah has taken on the role of a leader and has been helping her mom, Adele, grow in confidence and develop trust with humans.

Laylah would like you to know that she has FeLV, and should only be in a household with another FeLV+ cat. FeLV poses no risk to humans or other species of animals but cats with FeLV have a suppressed immune system, and have a greater likelihood of contracting secondary illnesses. Some cats that have FeLV conquer the virus and recover, while others may have a significantly shortened life expectancy. So, how do you best manage the virus? By keeping Laylah indoors, in a stress-free, calm home, with good nutrition and twice-yearly, regular Vet check ups. Currently, Laylah is healthy and does not require any medication. She is a loving cat, looking for someone to take a chance on her, and understand that whether she lives 2 years or 20, Laylah has a lot of love to give and deserves a forever home just like any other cat. Please apply today!
