Our Jack Frost would like to rap on your window pane (from the inside, of course)!

See, Jack Frost and his ginger family were rescued from a terrible hoarding situation in North York, where they were living in a burned out garage. Now, Jack's forecast is showing a warming trend in so many ways! Jack has recently given up his rugged outdoor life of hunger and cold, for the soft, cozy life indoors...and he is adjusting to constant contact with people.

Jack Frost has been known to be pretty chill, but you may hear a gentle hiss when you first approach him. That's no nor'easter! It's just that Jack has only recently come in from the cold and he's still nervous. He's learning to trust, but his initial response is to tell us with a hiss that he's scared. And while Jack may look like he's suffering from a chronic case of GCF (Grumpy Cat Face), we know that's just a (not so cold) front! But, he has been known to follow up with a nip, if his storm signals are ignored.

Since Jack has spent his previous life in a colony (of sorts), he hasn't had any exposure to toys, or playtime. He's now discovering toys that tickle his fancy! He's finding a love of chasing the laser! And gets excited about catching the toy underneath the blanket! With Jack Frost, its all about warming up to the volunteers through play!

Jack needs a patient, experienced adopter, to allow him to grow his confidence, at his own pace, yet consistently offer him affection and contact. He would not be suited to a home with small children, as he needs to be around people who will read his signals and adjust to his needs, in order to build his capacity to trust. Since Jack Frost has lived all of his life in a colony with his ginger bunch, we can predict that he would likely do well with another friendly cat (or maybe one of his tribe!). What we don't know, yet, is if living with a dog would leave him cold. Once we have deciphered his likes and dislikes, we'll make sure to update his profile!

Will you be the one to bring El Nino into his life and show Jack Frost that there are sunny, blue-skied days ahead? Then drop by EHS to meet him today!
