Rosanna is a super sweet little Chihuahua. She is fearful of new people and situations and it does take her some time to warm up, but once she does, she loves you! She has several people that she does her happy Chi Chi dance for and loves to hang out with and get lots of love from them. She loves treats, exploring outside and taking naps in a soft bed. She is still working on her leash skills but almost has it figured out. A securely fenced in yard will be required to adopt Rosanna. With the help of our rehab team, she has learned how to accept love and is gaining trust in people and confidence in herself. But because of her fear issues, she cannot go to a home with children under the age of 18. With just a little time and patience from her new family, she will become the devoted, loyal and loving Chihuahua that all Chihuahuas are. She gets along with all dogs (except a few other female Chihuahuas) and enjoys her time with them. Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 6 years old; homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as housetraining and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
