Oscar is a very special little guy. He has come a long way since his arrival and has found some people that he trusts and enjoys to have snuggles and lap time with. However, he still has many fears and he takes his time to warm up to new people, because of this he has to go to a home with NO children. He loves to snuggle in a soft bed either by himself or with another female friend of similar size. Oscar has discovered that toys and playtime are fun things he enjoys. He will need help learning how to potty outside in his securely fenced yard and how to walk on a leash. With time and a calm patient home, he will learn to love his new family and become a typical loyal, loving, fun Chihuahua.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 6 years old; homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as housetraining and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
