Meet Ronnie, a sweet, shy, and playful cat who is looking for a calm and patient forever home. Ronnie is a quiet and gentle soul, and while she may take a little time to warm up to new people, she's intelligent and quick to learn, especially when there are treats involved. Over time, she has become more vocal, and now you'll often hear her trilling or meowing to greet you, especially during mealtimes. She also loves to follow you around the house, curiously observing from a distance, and she enjoys watching the outside world through "cat TV"-whether it's birds, squirrels, or simply the bustle of the outdoors. When she's feeling affectionate, Ronnie will gently rub against your legs, and if you're in another room, she may even call out to you.
Ronnie has a strong love for food, and her daily routine consists of eating half a can of wet food in the morning and the other half in the evening around 8pm. She's also quite treat-motivated and will come running when she hears the sound of the treat bag being opened. However, one thing to be mindful of is Ronnie's love for bread-if you leave a loaf on the counter, she will find a way to steal it, so keep it out of reach! She's very playful, especially with toys, and particularly loves those that are filled with catnip. However, she is not a fan of loud noises or toys with bells, so quieter, simpler toys are best for her.
Ronnie is a pro at using the litterbox, and despite a past dental surgery where three teeth were removed, she's in good health. The surgery has left her a little drooly, but she's otherwise doing great. Ronnie also enjoys slow blinking, and she will give you these sweet moments as a sign of affection.
The ideal home for Ronnie is one that is calm and low-stress. She is sensitive to change and will need a stable environment where she can feel safe. Too many new people or excessive foot traffic might cause her to retreat and hide. Her new family will need to respect her boundaries, as Ronnie is not comfortable with being touched or petted, and she may never be. This means that her adopters must be patient, allowing her to come to them on her own terms. Ronnie enjoys having her own space, so she will need a home where she can have a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the household. She can also be a bit excitable during play, so it's important to recognize when she's in "hunting mode" to avoid accidental scratches.
If you're looking for a loving and treat-obsessed companion who will give you all the time she needs to feel at home, Ronnie could be the perfect fit for you. She's a smart, curious, and affectionate cat who thrives in a quiet, understanding home. Could you be the one to offer her the peaceful space she needs to blossom?
Like all ACR cats, Ronnie has been treated for fleas and parasites and is up-to-date on vaccines. Ronnie is negative for FIV and FeLV. She had a dental cleaning and fractured tooth removed in 2024.
