Lady Bouvier may be shy and skittish, but she has plenty of love to give her forever person! Could that be you?

This little tortie's adventure with ACR began when she was rescued, alongside many other cats, from a difficult situation. Because she had so little contact with people before, she first tried to scare her foster parents away, but with time and care and plenty of treats, little Bouv revealed that she's actually a gentle sweetie. She just needs some extra help managing her fear!

When Lady Bouvier is in her chosen "safe zone" of the house, she'll purr for pets, give kisses in return for scritches, and playfully "bite" (with gums-she's toothless!) the fingers of her favourite people. She greets her foster mom every single morning from her favourite perch atop a windowsill, looking for quiet pets and love before heading off to hang out by herself for most of the day.

Lady Bouvier's ideal forever family would have experience with frightened cats. They'd help her to gently and slowly expand her "safe zone" throughout the home, giving her plenty of treats and pets along the way. Her glimmers of bravery-like hanging out near her foster family as they watch a movie together and meowing loudly for pets if they haven't noticed she's in her "safe zone"-tell us she is truly interested in making deep bonds with people. We know that with patience, she'll put lots of love on display!

Caring for Lady Bouvier is easy as pie: she happily eats a variety of cat food brands with no digestive upset; she has soft, short fur that doesn't need brushing; she is very healthy for her age; and she has no teeth... which means no surprise dental bills!

Lady Bouvier needs a quiet home with 1-2 adults and no children. Her adopters must have demonstrated skill with navigating the boundaries of shy, fearful cats. Lady Bouvier has not been tested with dogs, but she lives peacefully with other cats if they don't chase or bully her.

As a senior cat, Lady Bouvier requires annual bloodwork to monitor her overall health and well-being. Her next test is due in May 2025. Lady Bouvier is currently on daily medication for anxiety issues and has tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Like all ACR cats, she has been treated for fleas and parasites.
