Meet Pickles: A Sweet and Shy Feral Rescue with a Heart for Food!

Pickles is a one-year-old rescue with a gentle soul and a love for food. Though shy and timid around most people, she has warmed up to her foster mom and enjoys butt scratches, especially around dinner time. Food is the key to gaining her trust, but be careful not to leave your plate unattended, as her feral instincts might prompt her to steal your meal. Despite this, Pickles has never jumped on kitchen counters or shown food aggression towards other cats or dogs.

While hesitant about physical affection, Pickles loves being near her humans. She often sits just out of reach, keeping a watchful eye and enjoying your presence. When in the mood, she appreciates scratches on her bum but prefers to avoid touches around her neck and head. Pickles is bonded with her spunky brother, Sunny, forming a perfect pair that complement each other. With the heart of a hunter, she delights in chasing toy mice, wand toys, and is an expert fly catcher.

Pickles enjoys a diet of both dry and wet food and has a particular fondness for CatIt treats. While she likes catnip, she doesn't indulge as much as her brother does. Most of her day is spent relaxing, but she also loves exploring the house, and discovering new smells and sights.

Though she can see with both eyes, one eye has some cloudiness, and both eyes occasionally run. Daily L-lysine and probiotic supplements help manage this condition. She also has an extremely long tail that adds to her whimsical charm.

Pickles gets along well with other cats and adores her foster's female cat, purring whenever she's around. She is also fine with dogs, though sometimes a bit nervous. Due to her shy nature, Pickles would thrive in a calm home without small children. She needs patient owners who understand how to familiarize themselves with a nervous cat without pushing her boundaries. While people sometimes scare her, she has never shown any aggression, only letting out silent hisses when nervous. Her meows are rare and almost silent as well.

Pickles is prone to upper respiratory infections and sometimes requires supplements to help boost her immune system. She has scarring in one eye, which is likely due to a previous injury, but her sight is not affected. Like all ACR cats, Pickles has been treated for fleas and parasites and is up-to-date on vaccines.

Pickles must be adopted with Sunny.
