I'm a striking large mix breed with a coat that gleams like the night sky - hence the name Nova. Full of life and energy, I'm ready to embark on adventures with a family who can match my zest for life.
~ Nova needs a home with a single person, couple, or family with teenaged children.
~ I thrive in a home with a yard where I can burn off my energy and express myself. Due to my vocal nature when left alone, apartment living isn't the best fit for me. An understanding family who can spend quality time with me and provide the mental and physical stimulation I need would be ideal.
~ I do have some specific needs that my future family should be aware of. I have a tendency to resource guard my toys and food, so a family experienced in managing this behavior would be ideal. I'll flourish in a home where my boundaries are respected, and positive reinforcement is used to guide me.
~ My ideal forever family will sign me up for training to help me become the best girl around.
~ I'm not a fan of female dogs, so I'm looking to be the only female canine star of your home. I do best with friendly puppy like male dogs. Additionally, my high prey drive makes it challenging for me to coexist with cats and small animals, so a cat-free environment is a must.
~ It's important to note that I have Lyme disease. I'm not symptomatic for Lyme disease but the team here at the center recommends consulting with your vet prior to adopting me.
