Are you looking for a loveable goofball that is ready to brighten your day, everyday? Well luckily for you Hazel is looking for her furrever home and would love a family that can shower her with affection. Hazel is a fast learner and would love to work for all her treats. Our staff have started working with her on agility and she is absolutely loving it. When she is all done jumping she will ask for lots of belly rubs and snuggles.
~ Hazel would love to find a home that can keep her active and give her lots to do daily as she is a busy bee! ~ This sweet girl loves to get attention and be with people, but she can have some separation anxiety when left alone which can result in her being overly vocal. ~ Hazel is looking for a house rather than apartment style home as she can be vocal and does not want to upset her new neighbours. ~ Hazel would like to be the only dog in the home as she wants all the attention and has shown reactivity to other dogs. ~ Her ideal home is with an adult or older children family as she needs to work on her manners. ~ Hazel will need to be signed up for in-person training to help her work on her basic training, manners, reactivity and separation anxiety. ~ This lovely pup cannot wait to give her new family lots of love! Regularly Exhibited Behaviours Noticed: - Separation Anxiety - Vocal - Very High Energy - Reactivity - Mouthy - Jumpy - Under-Socialized Explanation of Behaviours: - A young dog that is very high energy and will need lots of attention, training, exercise, and enrichment daily - She will need to be socialized a lot in a safe and proper way to set her up for success in the future - She will need work on difficult behaviors such as jumping up and mouthing, especially when excited or taking food / treats - She has shown some reactivity towards other dogs while in our care and as a result can get vocal at times - She has shown separation anxiety while in our care. As a result she can be vocal at times This dog would benefit from: - Active home - No other dogs - Lots of training and socialization - Lots of time and attention - No apartments - A home with near adult age children or an adult only home Training needs/behaviours that need to be worked with for this dog: - Basic Training - Basic manners - Work on difficult behaviors such as jumping up and mouthing / taking food or treats gently - Reactivity towards other dogs - Separation anxiety **For more information on any behaviours stated above, please check out our behaviour fact sheet: https://kwsphumane.ca/BehavioursandDefinitions **Please remember that animals are coming back from foster care to the centres for their meet and greets.
