Meet Joey!
Joey is a 2-year-old Shih Tzu mix that is around 10-15 pounds at full growth. Joey came to us as an owner surrender due to him not doing well with the children in the home. Because of this, he would do best in a home where there are no children. We were told that he has done well playing with larger dogs but with smaller dogs he may can be overwhelming to them as he has a hard time understanding that others need a break. He is not fully potty trained and would need help getting on a consistent schedule for potty training, but he has done well using papers at this time. He has not yet felt comfortable with leashing, so a home with a fence will be required. Due to him having a hard time trusting people coming into his space, he would do best in a home where there are no visitors or a home that would be comfortable kenneling him when new people come over. We are still learning more about him as he is still very unsure of his new surroundings and constant new people, that he would have to have a few meets in order for him to feel comfortable being handled.
If you would like to know more information or would like to be considered for Joey, please feel free to fill out an adoption application online.
