Kiwi is a 2-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix with a classic blocky head and a strong, athletic build. She came to us underweight, but don't let that fool you - Kiwi is a powerful girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart.
She gets super excited to run with other dogs outside. Her leash manners are still a work in progress, so our volunteers hold on tight during walks! Kiwi is a sweet, playful pup who enjoys a good game of fetch. She has been introduced to cats, and seemed quite interested in getting to know them, so a home with a dog savvy cat is highly recommended in case she wants to play tag! However, she has met other dogs, and seems to get along well with them, just know that with her energy, she might be more interested in someone more her pace.
When Kiwi first arrived, she was understandably confused and even tried to escape our outdoor fences. Because of this, we always have a staff member or volunteer outside with her to keep her safe and secure. Due to her strength, Kiwi may do best in a home with a fenced yard (though not required). She does have a rough and tumble playstyle, so may do better with kids that are a bit older.
Kiwi may not have had the easiest start, but she's ready to find a loving forever home where she can thrive. She is on-site at our rescue. If you are interested in meeting Kiwi, you can come out and ask to meet her in one of our playrooms or fill out an application online.
Information on Kiwi may change as we get to know her better.
