This energetic hound mix is full of personality and always ready for adventure! Flapjack came to AHeinz57 from a home packed with pups, so he's used to being part of a lively pack. We do believe that Flapjack and his siblings were kept outside prior to coming to us, so he may still need some assistance with house manners and basic training. Since being on-site at the rescue, we have learned that he can be a little scared of other dogs at first, but once he gets to know them, he will romp around and play. Flapjack does get to go outside with his brother, Flint, and they do love to wrestle!
Flapjack has a big voice and isn't afraid to use it, so a home without shared walls would be best. He also loves meeting new people and will give everyone free hugs if given the chance! When looking for his forever home, proper introductions will be needed with any human or furry family members to make sure that he will be a right fit. He has not had the opportunity to meet with any felines, but if similar to his sister, he may feel like they are more of just a fun toy to play with. Flapjack is a strong chewer, so he'll need durable toys to keep him busy and happy. He's got plenty of energy to burn outside, making him a great companion for walks, playtime, or backyard zoomies. As most hounds do, as well as his siblings, Flapjack loves to follow his nose when he is out and about, exploring. He is working on his leash skills, but he will still pull on the leash when he gets excited or gets a good scent. He would benefit greatly with a family that is willing to help him continue to learn these basic skills but one that will also be patient in knowing that it will take time. Despite his spirited nature, he's a sweet guy who just wants to be part of the action!
