Meet Hudson!
Hudson is 4-year-old Terrier/Cattle Dog mix that is medium in size and weighs about 45+ pounds at full growth. He originally came to us as stray who had never been claimed, and has been with us ever since. We are not certain what he had experienced before coming to us, but we hope that someday soon he finds the home of his dreams where he will be the center of attention.
If you take a tour at the rescue, you may see Hudson barking through his door and acting stand-offish to those that pass by. While he may seem a bit scary in his kennel, if you ask to see him outside or in our meet room, he is a completely different dog. Hudson is a definite ladies man and tends to gravitates more towards them. He is still a big lover and does warm up quickly with some treats and good pets. He absolutely loves the male staff and volunteers at AHeinz57, but it may take a few meet in greets with certain families as he is still somewhat wary of men he does not know. As with all of our dogs, a meet and greet with all family members in the home is needed to make sure it is a great match.
Hudson would love a home where he can be the center of attention. Over time we have learned that Hudson would love a home where there are no other dogs and no children, as he is not the biggest fan of either. He does get nervous in large groups of people, so a home with little to no visitors is where he may feel most comfortable. Due to his dislike of other dogs and children we do require at least a 5ft fully fenced in yard to keep him safe and secure. He would definitely benefit some training on leash manners and with how to not bark at other dogs or new people on walks.
Our handsome Hudson is just a sweet boy looking for someone to love and spend the rest of his days with. If given the chance, he will play a game of fetch with you, laugh about life with you, and hang out on the couch watching whatever it is you want to watch. He isn't picky as to whatever channel or streaming app you like, he just wants to be with you!
