As of 07/12/2025 Mikey (Michael) is in foster and this is what his foster parents have to say.
I'd like to introduce you to Michael the dog.
Michael is currently available for adoption at The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach. Tasha and I have been fostering him for the past couple weeks, and he's such a sweet boy.
(They call him Mikey at the shelter, which is ridiculous. Mikey is a child's name. Michael isn't a child. He's a dog.)
Michael loves long walks, playing with toys, playing with people, and booping me with his nose when I'm working and he's trying to get my attention.
As a dog, he spends most of the day sleeping and relaxing (we have 3 dogs beds for him in our home; you'll have to ask Tasha why he needs 3 dog beds). But when he's up, he's doing zoomies around the house and begging you to play with him and his toys.
Whichever he's doing, he just wants to be near you.
Based on his appearance, we believe Michael is half-dalmatian and half-pit bull, which would explain his energy level.
I'm not going to lie to you; Michael is emotionally needy. He wants to love you, and for you to love him.
Michael is house trained, crate trained, and he says grace before eating.
If you want a speckled ball of energy who can't wait to love you, then Michael is literally your dog.
Mikey is the total package-sweet, playful, and full of love! This adorable pup has a heart as big as his personality, and he's always ready to shower you with affection. Whether he's zooming around with his favorite toy or snuggling up for some cuddle time, Mikey is happiest when he's with his people. If you're looking for a fun-loving, affectionate companion to brighten your days, Mikey is your guy!
