Kitty is a spicy, intelligent girl who is looking for an experienced cat person who understands that trust is earned and boundaries matter.

When Kitty first arrived in foster care, she was so stressed and defensive that she was being considered for a barn cat program. But once she had time to decompress in a quiet, predictable home, Kitty surprised everyone. She discovered that she loves indoor life-her cat tree, cozy beds, a good windowsill, cardboard scratchers, catnip treats, and even her galaxy star lamp.

Kitty enjoys being part of a family on her own terms and likes to keep an eye on what her people are doing. She prefers affection in small doses, accepting a few quick head pets before letting you know she's had enough, but she absolutely loves being pampered with a back scratcher. Highly food motivated and eager to learn, Kitty will even go into her crate on cue.

Kitty isn't a cuddly lap cat, but for someone who appreciates a clever, independent companion, she will be a fascinating and rewarding friend. She would likely do best as the only cat and may enjoy living with a confident, cat-savvy dog.

The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Some pets qualify for FREE or reduced adoption fees, please inquire with our Animal Care team to learn more.

Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. This will include reviewing all known medical and behavior information.

** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process. We appreciate you're understanding and patience.
