My name is Onyx, and I am a 1 1/2 -year-old bull terrier and labrador mix. I am a playful girl, smart, curious, a bit shy but always ready to make human friends and eager to be cared for and loved. I enjoy walks, play time, getting out of the kennel, kibble treats and naps. I am a good pooch, and an active person would be my ideal human. I enjoy calm moments as much as I enjoy playtime.
I have become attached to many volunteers at the shelter, and I am responding to ‘sit' commands and to my name most of the time when I am called. I enjoy making human friends and like structure and consistency. I really enjoy sitting close to my person for body rubs and attention. At the shelter I feel loved, safe and form close bonds with my humans. One day when I know I am safe with you, and realize that yours is my forever home, I know that something magical will happen between us.
I was adopted but it turns out I wasn't a good fit with the folks. I am feeling scared after returning to the shelter as the noise makes me uneasy. I would thrive as the only dog in a loving home. I would do best in a calm home as I am a cautious girl looking for patient humans that I can fall in love with. There are so many things that we could do together to fill our days!
I am spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines.
