Hi, it's Squeaky and I am still here at the shelter waiting for someone to come and share their love, life, home and tenderness with me. I'm a 4-year-old Staffordshire Terrier possibly mixed with black lab who came to the shelter as a stray in October 2024, a very long time ago, sadly. I was adopted once and enjoyed it, but the child was allergic to dogs, and I have been waiting for a new family ever since.

Photo #1 is me ‘chillaxing' after a nice walk with my volunteer mom in her neighborhood and I was pretending to be a happy crocodile in photo #2. Every few weeks my volunteer mom takes me out of the shelter for a 2-day sleepover to help maintain my sanity! I am a relaxed completely different dog outside of the shelter where it is calm, quiet and secure. I didn't bark once during our time outside together as I was so happy and excited to be exploring and sniffing with someone who I am comfortable with. Please come and visit me at the shelter so my volunteer foster lady friend can tell you lots more about my personality and character.

Here are some things to know about me - - I am 65 pounds of playfulness, affection, curiosity, and a joyful funny guy who thinks I'm a lap dog. I love soft stuffy toys that squeak, splash pools, fetch, leash walks, hiking on red rock trails, watching TV, hugging, and sleeping on a soft bed. I need time to feel comfortable with people I don't know so I need you to visit me a few times to learn about each other. I attach to people that make me feel comfy. I need to be the only dog in your home as I have had no experience living with another dog.

I am ready to polish my manners with a little more training, guidance, patience and consistency that's tough to get in a shelter. Staff at the shelter are working with me to come when barking by saying ‘Squeaky come, no bark' and I am listening in return for a little kibble treat. I have the potential to be a kind companion. I would be ecstatic to have a forever sleepover at your house!
I am neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and a house broken volunteer favorite.

If you are looking for a walking buddy, happy, food motivated, affectionate companion with a heart as big as my head, I am your doggie! My friends at the Humane Society can be reached at 928-282-4679 10AM- 4PM Monday- Friday to set up time for a few meets and greets. I have so much to offer to someone who is willing to see me for the lovable great dog that I am when I am away for the confines of the shelter.
