Hello, you can call me Squeaky but please don't call me late for dinner! I'm a 4-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix who came to the shelter as a stray in October 2024. I am 65 pounds of playfulness, affection, intelligence, curiosity, and a joyful funny guy who thinks I'm a lap dog. I love soft stuffy toys that squeak, splash pools, fetch of any kind, leash walks, hiking on red rock trails, splashing in the creek, watching TV, hugging, and sleeping on a soft bed.
I have a foster mom who takes me home for a couple of days every week or so. I love when I am in her home as it's quieter than the shelter and I can relax. We go on an hour long neighborhood walk a few times a day and once in a while I bark at other dogs with their humans. I am a rule follower at heart and do not chew on anything but my toys, I don't mark anywhere and have an awesome time playing with new toys. This past week I had fun for the first time with a puzzle that hid my food...what a crazy concept! It kept me occupied for 45 minutes when I was home alone.
Since I have been a shelter resident for a while I need time to check people out, so you may need to visit me a few times so we can learn about each other. I make strong attachments with people that make me feel comfy. I need to be the only dog in your home as I have had no experience living with another dog.
I am neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and a house broken volunteer favorite.
Away from my friends at the shelter, I am a relaxed calm dog and a kind, happy, thankful and faithful companion. I would be ecstatic to have a forever sleepover at your house! I have so much to offer to someone who is willing to see me as the lovable great dog that I am.
