I'm Michael, and being without a home has made my world feel smaller than ever.
Here at the shelter, I spend most of my days curled tightly in my blankets, tucking my fragile heart away beneath their folds. I'm shy, and new faces make me nervous. But please don't mistake my stillness for indifference. Beneath it, I ache for love. I watch people walk by, hoping someone will notice the quiet little cat hidden in fabric and see the longing behind my timid green eyes.
And when someone does pause to spend time with me, something inside me softens. I inch closer and rest my head against their palm, a gentle hum rising from somewhere deep inside of me. It's my small, brave way of saying, I want this. I want you.
With time and patience, I would thrive as a cherished member of a calm home with adults and older children who understand that sensitive souls need space to feel safe. I would also love the companionship of a laid-back, nurturing feline friend. Most of all, I wish for this smaller world I live in now to widen into something lasting and certain - a place where I truly belong.
