I'm Higgins, and I've been waiting for a loving home since Thanksgiving - but I still wake up each morning with hope in my heart.
I arrived at the shelter in November 2024 as part of a cruelty case, but I've never let my past dim my light. I greet the world with gentleness and love, and the people here say I'm the sweetest gentleman they've ever met.
Even after all these months without receiving a single inquiry, I dream of curling up beside that special someone who understands that the quietest souls often hold the deepest stories. I imagine resting my head on a lap, purring joyfully as my forever person reads a book aloud to me or turns on a peaceful film for us to watch together. I imagine being cherished, not for flash or flair, but for the comfort I offer just by being close.
I have beautiful burnt orange fur brushed with darker bands, a soft white patch on my chest, and golden eyes that reflect everything I've endured and all the love I have yet to give.
I get along wonderfully with other cats and would likely do fine with calm dog. But most of all, I'm longing for a serene home - one with adults and older children - where I can finally belong.
Could you be the one I've waited so long to give my heart to? Please, please apply to adopt me today. I can't wait to meet you.
