If you've ever wanted a dog that's equal parts goofball, good boy, and gentle soul, meet Ozzy, a 5-year-old black lab mix with a wonderfully awkward charm you won't be able to resist.
He's got the kind of look that makes people tilt their heads and go, "Aww... what is he?" And while we may never fully know his breed mix, we can confirm he's 100% sweetheart. He loves kids (12 and up, just due to his size), and while he could run and play for hours, he's also a pro at chill trail walks, totally unbothered by other dogs, squirrels, or anything else that might be rustling in the bushes.
Ozzy is a shelter favorite and a top-tier leash walker. He knows all the classics: sit, shake, lay down, and "you're a good boy," While the shelter environment makes him a little stressed, one-on-one time with a human melts that stress away and reveals a silly, happy, possibly part-time comedian who just wants to hang out and maybe do zoomies.
He's got a couple quirks (we think they just add to his charm):
Not a fan of heavy head scratches, he's more of a "belly rub and kind words" kind of guy.
Sensitive soul alert: scold him and he might go hide. He just wants to be your good boy.
Apartment life? Not really his style. Give him space to stretch those long legs.
Ozzy keeps getting overlooked at the shelter, and we don't get it because he could easily be a man's loyal best bud or a woman's quirky, devoted companion. All he needs is a soft voice, a loving home, and a person to call his own.
