Meet Piper, a delightful adult dog who brings a blend of energy and affection to every day. Though initially shy, Piper warms up to reveal her playful and cuddly nature. She's house trained and always eager for a game or a gentle pat. She weighs 71 pounds and likes car rides, fetch, tugging, and running but not water. She also loves things that squeak. She enjoys leading while on a leash. She knows the sit and stay commands. While Piper can be a bit jumpy and needs a bit of patience when meeting new dogs and children, her lovable character shines through. Her cautious approach just means she's all the more special when she trusts you. She is friendly and playful with submissive dogs and is popular at the dog park but she can be territorial when dominant dogs are in the home. Piper's need for companionship makes her the perfect loyal friend for someone who can give her the love and security she seeks. She was given up because her owner's couldn't afford to care for her. If you're seeking a lovable friend to add joy and affection to your days, Piper could be the perfect match. (tw 3/26/2026)

VIP Alert!
After more than 30 days at the shelter, this sweet animal has earned VIP status.
That means their adoption fee is 50% off-a perfect chance to give them the forever home they deserve. -jc (3/26/26)

Foster Note: The first thing you notice on Piper is her bent tail, then her eyes filled with longing. She is such a sweet girl and low maintenance, not a barker, not a shedder, house trained and knows her commands. She is afraid of being confined in a crate nor does she need to be, as she is so respectful to human, dogs and your home. When you see how she curls up with her broken tail to relax on her legs, you will understand her. She thrives with your company, and she makes eye contact every time she enters a door, so you are not going to slam it behind her. With other dogs, Piper is respectful and did great at her foster. However, due to her tail injury and shyness, we recommend her adopter to be one dog family or bring their dog to meet her. Would you like to be the one lighting up the sparkle in Piper's eyes and together build a living proof that love and life prevail? If you would like additional information about her, you can contact her foster Kai at kaihongli@hotmail.com or (281) 409-4496. (PA 4/24/26)
