Meet Dozer, a vibrant and intelligent dog who thrives on interaction and play. His boundless energy and friendly nature make him the perfect companion for active individuals or families. He is smart, obedient and trainable. Dozer loves other dogs, always trying to play with ones he meets. Because of his love for other dogs he would enjoy living with another active dog to play with. We are not sure how he is with cats. When Dozer see cats during walks outside he pulls towards them curiously. His energetic spirit means he can be a bit too rough for young children so he'll need to live with kids at least 12 years old. He can be nervous in new situations and at the shelter. So slow introductions to people and other dogs are best.
He loves attention, so he'll thrive with someone who can provide plenty of toys and engagement. He would love a big back yard and people who enjoy interacting with him. He is housebroken when let outside and walked on a regular schedule. Dozer also does know how to relax and calm down after play. After morning exercise and walk he sleeps most of the day until it is time to play and walk in the evenings again. He would be best in a house not an apartment so he has a yard to run in. He weighs 47 pounds and likes fetch, running, toys, walks, and chase. He knows the sit, come, no, and off commands.
In his foster home he lives with 2 other dogs, a 60lb, 12 yr old senior, and a 35lb younger one. He tries to play with them but they are not interested. He is not a big eater and may walk away from his partially eaten food. He likes most kinds of treats. During the day he was outside, in a room with people or a crate. At night he slept calmly in a crate. He is crate trained. He loves being petted and is fond of belly rubs. Adopt Dozer for a loyal and loving addition to your home.
