Eugene, lovingly nicknamed Paco by his foster, is just starting to discover life outside the shelter-and he's quickly proving to be a sweet, funny, and incredibly affectionate young dog. After five long months in the shelter, he's been soaking up all the love, soft couches, and belly rubs in his foster home, and he's ready to find a forever family to continue his journey.

Eugene is calm indoors and settles quickly after play or excitement. He loves chasing around his foster brother Pepe, relaxing on the couch, and curling up for solo cuddle time. He's especially fond of toys that make noise and finds joy in every new experience-whether it's a squeaky bone or a walk through the garden.

He does well following the routine in his foster home, including going outside for potty breaks-as long as someone goes with him. He's still learning basic commands like Sit and Stay, but already understands Come, Get Down, and how to sneak back inside by opening the back door with his nose (yes, he's that clever).

Though Eugene is new to leash walking, car rides, and the vet, he's making great progress. He might be a little nervous in unfamiliar situations, but his curious and trusting nature helps him bounce back quickly. With consistency and love, he's going to grow into a loyal, well-rounded companion.

In his foster's words:
"He is an amazing dog. He loves people, loves to cuddle, and wants to be right next to you at all times. He's smart, sensitive, and already learning so much. With a forever home, I know he will fully blossom into the wonderful dog he's meant to be."

Eugene would thrive in a home-active or relaxed-where he can bond with his people, keep learning, and get all the snuggles his heart desires. If you're looking for a loyal shadow with a goofy streak and tons of potential, Eugene is your guy.
