Meet Callie - The Playful Backyard Explorer

Callie is a 1-year-old Shepherd mix who's equal parts affectionate and adventurous. With a soft spot for sunny backyard play and toy time, she's a happy, energetic girl who's ready to find her forever home.

She currently lives with dogs of all sizes and gets along great with everyone-whether it's a senior pup who wants to nap or a young friend who's ready to romp. Callie plays well with others, loves to run around outside, and settles down nicely when it's time to relax.

While she's mostly house-trained, she's still working on perfecting her routine. She isn't crated in her foster home and does well with supervision, though she can get into mischief if left alone for too long without something to keep her busy. She prefers chewing on her own toys but needs reminders when something tempting is nearby.

Some things to know about Callie:

Mostly house-trained with rare accidents

Not crated but does well when supervised

Loves other dogs-small, large, and senior

Playful and energetic, but knows how to wind down

Friendly with new people

Knows Sit, Stay, and Come

Still learning leash manners and not to counter-surf

Can get nervous with loud noises or thunderstorms

Calm and easy-going in the car

Loves fetch, tug-of-war, toys, and backyard adventures

Eats quickly and benefits from slow feeders

Her foster says: "She's friendly, curious, and loves running around the yard. She plays great with our dogs and is always ready for a walk or a good cuddle after."

Callie's ideal home would have another dog to play with, a secure yard for her to explore, and a family who's ready to guide her through young-dog life with patience, consistency, and lots of love. She's eager to learn and would be a great match for first-time dog owners or active individuals looking for a fun, affectionate companion.
