Meet Harper (aka Blue) - The Perfect House Hippo
Age: 6 years
Breed: Mixed Breed
Energy Level: Low to Moderate
House-trained: Yes
Good with: Dogs, Cats, Children, and Adults

If you're searching for a mellow, affectionate companion with perfect house manners, Harper might just be the dog you've been waiting for. Known affectionately as Blue in her foster home, she's described as "just about the most perfect dog anyone could ask for."

Blue is fully house-trained, respectful of furniture, and quiet around the house. While she'll let out a bark or two to let you know she's ready to come back inside, she's generally very calm and doesn't make a fuss. She settles quickly after activity and spends most of her time lounging or following her people around, offering gentle nose boops and warm snuggles.

She's great with other dogs of all sizes and calmly coexists with cats. She can be a bit excited when meeting new dogs but responds well to proper introductions. Blue is also wonderful with kids and has shown she can handle the bustle of a busy household. She plays gently, especially with toys, and while she'll try to keep up with high-energy dogs, she's more likely to supervise than participate.

She knows a few basics like "Sit," "Crate," and, most importantly, "Snacks." Her foster describes her as sweet, happy, and admittedly not the sharpest-but in the most lovable way. She's the kind of dog who makes your home feel complete.

Some of her favorite things include:

Quiet car rides

Relaxing in the garden

Helping water the plants (she thinks the hose is a party)

Being close to her people

Snacks, cuddles, and being told she's a good girl

Blue is crate-trained, though she's so trustworthy that she's allowed free roam of the house when her foster family is away-and she's never had an accident or gotten into trouble. Her only "flaw" might be the gentle, pitiful noises she makes during dinner in hopes you'll share a bite.

In her foster's words:
"Blue is the only foster I've ever had who gets full house privileges when I'm not home. She's never naughty, always gentle, and just wants to be by your side. She's an absolute gem."

Blue would thrive in a laid-back home with people who enjoy calm companionship, short walks, and plenty of cuddle time. She would be a perfect match for a first-time dog owner or anyone looking for an easy, loving best friend.
