This is Bruce. He is a 1.5 year old purebred Presa Canario weighing almost 80 lbs. He has completed basic obedience training and is ready to find a forever home.
He needs soft introductions and must be monitored while he meets new people and dogs. He shows minimal signs of aggression, but can come on a little strong especially if you excite him. He often thinks he is playing when other dogs are trying to correct him. He will get the hint eventually, but is very likely to start fights. He likes to play rough with people as well, so he would probably not do well in a home with toddlers. He responds well to light corrections when he gets a bit rambunctious. We have not tested him around cats or other animals.
He will thrive under the direction of an experienced handler. If you can outlast his stubborness, he is easy to train with a balanced training approach. If you don't make him accountable, he will blow you off and take control.
He would do best in a home with a fenced in yard. His exercise needs can be satisfied with a daily 30 min walk and a couple 5 minute play sessions per day. In the house, he seems to know which objects are play objects and which items are off limits. He has mild interest in food items left on the counter and surrenders his focus with verbal corrections. It is unclear whether counter surfing or digging in trash will be a problem if left alone.
