A musician called Prince had a song called "Let's Go Crazy." It started out, "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to get through this thing called ‘life'." When I first arrived at the shelter, I coped by "shutting down." I'm a neutered brown tabby, estimated to be a year old, who was found in Zumbrota. I'm being called Prince, but I didn't feel very regal at first. I was scared and confused. I wasn't going crazy. I just hunkered down, waited, and watched. But the shelter people are very kind to me, and eventually I let them pet me if they approached me slowly. Now that I have settled in, I have become much more friendly and confident.
