The Newport Beach Animal Shelter is excited to announce that Chandler and Ross, a bonded pair of 5-year-old Chihuahua mixes, are officially available for adoption. They arrived at the shelter in May 2022 after coming from a difficult situation. Since then, they have made significant progress, particularly Ross, who has needed additional time and patience to become comfortable around people.
The pair must be adopted together. Chandler is brown and white, weighs 18.2 pounds and is outgoing, affectionate and always ready for attention. Ross is black and white, weighs 16.5 pounds and is more reserved. While Ross is not comfortable being handled, he enjoys going for walks, readily takes treats and continues to build trust with the people around him. Both dogs walk well on a leash, are very treat motivated and do well with other dogs. Because Ross is still gaining confidence, the pair would be best suited for a quiet, patient home where he can continue to adjust at his own pace.
