Hello, Dobby here! I'm an "American Curl" - a fairly rare breed of cat-- see my cute ears? American Curls are the result of a spontaneous mutation in the 1980s-- Mother nature at her best! My friends at the shelter say I look like an orange Creamsicle!
Some Google facts: "American Curls are incredibly curious and friendly. If their owner is working on a project at home, they will almost certainly receive a visit from this cat because they enjoy helping and exploring new things. These pleasant traits remain throughout their lives - they continue to behave like a happy, curious, and playful cat. As this breed is not extensively bred and is often crossed with regular domestic cats, American Curls are generally healthy." Just please know my ears may be sensitive, so best not to touch or play with them.
I am a lively, outgoing boy who loves to play with the wand toy and laser pointer. Crinkle toys, those brightly colored toys that make noise, are also favorites! If you give me a lickable treat, I promise we will be fast friends. I know my name, "Dobby," am very clean and tidy with my hygiene and when I'm hungry, will give you the cutest little meow you've ever heard. I prefer a quiet home, as loud and/ or sudden noises make me nervous. I would like to sit next to you and make biscuits and occasionally sit on your lap. I do need to be your only fur-baby as dogs make me nervous and I'm best off as your only cat. I can occasionally be swatty so best to please watch my body language.
I get kinda hangry from 2:00 to 3:30, so it is best to not visit me during that time. I am not myself when I am hungry. I would love for you to come back when I am in a better mood after I eat!
If you think I would be a good fit for your home, please come to the shelter to meet me! I'm at Meow Manor, the building right across the parking lot from our main shelter.
The shelter hours are Sunday - Monday, & Wednesday - Saturday (Closed Tuesday) 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Closed 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM for lunch.
