Meet Miss Roo!

Roo is a sweet, beautiful older tabby mix with striking spots, golden-green eyes, a love of long cuddles with her favourite person, and frequent conversations and opinions that she is not shy to share.

She chooses her person fairly quickly, and once she decides you're hers, she bonds closely. Expect Roo to curl up in your lap while you work, to climb onto your shoulder when you're on the couch and she wants to be close, and to settle in with you at bedtime (she loves a healthy bedtime schedule and will shepherd you to bed on time).

Roo is very vocal. She likes to chat with her human companions and let them know what is on her mind with meows ranging from loud and crispy to soft and sweet. She has a strong voice and likes to be talked to in return. She'll let you know when she wants food, a drink of water, to play, a lap to sit in, and more. If you like a cat who carries on a conversation and makes her opinions known, Roo will be a wonderful companion.

She also has a playful side and especially enjoys playing with catnip pouches and wand toys. Typically, a 10 minute play time is all she needs before she is ready to take it easy for the rest of the day. She scratches her cardboard scratching pad and has not scratched furniture in her foster home. She also loves to gaze out at the world from a window (particularly if she can see squirrels) or snooze in her cat hammock. She free-feeds and isn't particularly motivated by treats, preferring attention and words of affirmation over treats and food. Roo also prefers not to be picked up.

Roo has a sensitive, gentle soul. Even when she gets spooked, she doesn't lash out with claws, bites, or hisses. One of her most endearing habits is softly mewing while making biscuits on the bed at bedtime and curling up near your shoulder when she settles in for the night. She makes a soft purring sound when she is falling asleep next to you, which is the most soothing sound in the world.

Roo would be happiest as the queen of the castle and would do best in a quiet household with no young children. Roo is looking for a peaceful, cozy indoor home where she can feel secure, bond closely with her people, play, cuddle, and - most importantly - tell you all about her day.

Roo has had most of her teeth removed but is not currently on any medication. She does not enjoy jumping to or from great heights but will climb a cat tower. She prefers to sleep with her people. She is a fantastic companion for someone who likes a cozy corner to read a book and enjoy their time with a cat in their lap.

Roo is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites. She is also FIV/FeLV negative.
