This young Husky is always ready for his next adventure, whether that's hitting the trails, exploring a trail, or spending a day around the water. Boog absolutely loves to swim! He's an active, fun loving guy who would thrive with a family that can provide plenty of physical activity, enrichment, and opportunities to explore.
Boog is looking for a dog experienced family and is not recommended for first time dog owners. He is a strong dog and has displayed leash-reactive behavior toward other dogs, so his future family should be comfortable managing a powerful dog and continuing positive, reward-based training to help him build his skills around other dogs.
Boog has participated in playgroups at the shelter and has done well with female dogs around his size. He has shown some selective behavior toward male dogs, so if there is another dog in the home, a socially appropriate female dog would likely be his best match. As always, introductions should be thoughtful and based on the individual dogs involved.
Due to his size, strength, and activity level, Boog would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard where he has room to exercise and decompress. Apartment living or other high-density living environments are not the best fit for him.
Based on his behavior in our care, Boog is looking for a home with teens and adults who are comfortable with an energetic, strong dog and can respect his space when needed.
