Lucy is a happy-go-lucky girl who came into the shelter with her best friend, Ethel, and the two are a bonded pair. They are very attached to one another and must be adopted together. Being separated causes them significant anxiety, so they are looking for a family that can welcome them both.
Lucy is friendly with people and appears to enjoy the company of other dogs. A slow, positive introduction is recommended when meeting new canine friends. She is a strong, enthusiastic walker who may pull initially, but settles into her walk once she has burned off some of her excitement.
Lucy is currently heartworm positive and undergoing treatment. She and Ethel have both enjoyed day trips with volunteers, where they have done wonderfully in a home environment and ride well in the car. A foster or foster-to-adopt home would be a wonderful option while they complete their recovery.
