Meet Belinda, a 5-year-old Pit Bull sweetheart who's looking for a foster-to-adopt home to support her through heartworm treatment, which will be fully managed and covered by the shelter's veterinary team. This gentle girl has already stolen the hearts of her current foster mom, and it's easy to see why.

Belinda is an absolute love bug through and through. She's 100% house-trained, wonderfully polite in the home, and has the calm, easygoing energy of a seasoned companion. She gets excited for walks with a charming little hippity-hop, but she prefers a short stroll and doesn't need much exercise. In fact, she's happiest just moseying alongside you, soaking up your company and enjoying the world at her own pace. She's been a quiet, respectful house guest-never barking, even when her foster siblings raise a ruckus. Belinda doesn't mind other dogs and mostly keeps to herself around them. She's a pro at leash walking, is very gentle taking treats, and clearly has lived comfortably in a home before. The only thing she struggles with is stairs-likely a mix of her current post-surgery recovery, her heartworm condition, and her adorably short little legs.

Belinda would thrive in a calm, loving home. She'd be a perfect companion for someone looking for a low-energy, low-maintenance best friend. If you're looking for a quiet, affectionate, and well-mannered dog who just wants to be near her person and be loved, Belinda might be your perfect match. Ask about fostering-to-adopt Belinda today and help her heal while falling in love! Heartworm foster parents are asked to bring their pups to the shelter on weekdays for medical care and will need their own transportation. Please note Belinda is currently not residing at the shelter. If interested in learning more about Belinda and her heartworm treatment regime or scheduling a meet and greet, please email the foster team at foster@cuyahogacounty.gov today!
